'Pinch of Salt' bowl, 2010 by Adi TochThe Curator is responsible, subject to the approval of the Company’s Modern Collection Committee, for all acquisitions to the Modern Collections.  There is an annual programme of commissioning and purchasing contemporary silver, jewellery and art medals from studio craftsmen. New pieces must demonstrate innovative design, combined with excellent craftsmanship and are acquired from established artist-designer craftsmen showing new directions, as well as from rising stars.

Gifts of contemporary work have to meet the criteria of the acquisition policy for the modern  collections.
