Jeremy G Hicks’ work is, on the surface somewhat plain, clean lines and simple shapes with well integrated fittings and clasps, his inspiration possibly taken from his love of motor bikes. Rather like the man himself all is not necessarily what it seems. Many of his designs reflect Jeremy’s humorous and romantic nature, using precious materials in an almost irreverent way, sometimes concealing stones, messages and tokens of love. Although Jeremy takes much delight in these playful aspects, his care over fastenings and settings make his work unfussy, straightforward and confidently understated. Jeremy’s own summation of his work is appropriately simple and concise; fun, form, function.
